Jane has over 20 years’ experience in private client work, having worked in this area since she qualified. Jane specialises in non-contentious private client work, including wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection work, with a particular focus on trusts and trust tax.
Jane qualified as a solicitor in 2000, having attended the University of East London and completing the Graduate Diploma in Law, followed by the Legal Practice Course which she gained from the University of Law in London.
Jane is an accomplished solicitor who brings a unique blend of commercial application and strong technical, academic and research skills gained in the City and in highly regarded regional practices. Jane was a partner of a law firm in Berkshire, where she was Head of Trusts & Charities, before she moved to the Bedford area.
Jane is a full member of STEP and a qualified Trusts & Estates Practitioner, as well as a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly.
Between 2019-2021 Jane was President of Berks, Bucks & Oxon Law Society, having been its Vice President between 2017-2019 and a member of the Executive Committee since 2015.
From 2014–2017, Jane was the Chair of the Law Society’s Wills and Equity Committee, having been a member of the Committee for the previous 9 years.
Jane is a trustee of The Law Society Charity, and is currently chair of the board of trustees of Smile International. In 2019, Jane represented The Law Society Charity at the PILnet Global Forum in Singapore. In addition, her work with Smile International and Smile Charity Uganda has involved two trips to Uganda to visit the charity’s projects there, as well as a trip to Zimbabwe.
Outside the office, Jane is a trained musician and singer. She plays the cello with Bedford Sinfonia and Bedford Community Concert Orchestra, and sings with a number of chamber choirs including Peterborough Chamber Choir, “FineChants” and “Chorus Ad Vincula”.
