Brian Fraser is a Senior Associate Solicitor in Elite Law Solicitors’ Family Law team, based at the firm’s Guildford office. He has worked in family law since 2013 and was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2018. Brian advises clients on divorce and separation, financial remedy proceedings, high-value financial matters, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, children matters and domestic abuse.
Brian combines calm, compassionate advice with a strategic and practical approach. He recognises that family matters are deeply personal and believes in providing compassion without compromise. His ability to tailor advice to each client’s circumstances has been recognised in client reviews, including for supporting individuals who may find it difficult to engage legal services because of health or age-related limitations.
Divorce and Financial Matters
Brian advises on divorce, separation and the financial arrangements that arise when a marriage or civil partnership ends. He is regularly instructed in complex and high-value financial cases involving multi-million-pound assets, including financial remedy proceedings and nuptial agreements made before or after marriage.
Complex Applications and Dispute Resolution
Brian has experience in complex financial applications, including Notice to Show Cause and Set Aside applications. He also uses non-court dispute resolution where appropriate to help clients achieve favourable outcomes without unnecessary litigation. When court proceedings are required, his meticulous case preparation has been recognised by Counsel and supports effective representation.
Cohabitation and Property Disputes
Brian advises unmarried couples on cohabitation agreements and disputes arising during a relationship or following separation. His experience includes property claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA), as well as Inheritance Act claims.
Children Matters, Domestic Abuse and Inclusive Support
Brian advises on private children law and child arrangements, as well as domestic abuse and protective injunctions.
