Laura Everitt is an SRA-regulated residential conveyancing solicitor, Director and Head of Property at Elite Law Solicitors. Based at the firm’s Milton Keynes office, she leads the Property team and advises homeowners, buyers, sellers, landlords, investors and families on a wide range of residential conveyancing matters.
Laura has more than 18 years’ experience in residential property law and qualified as a solicitor in 2010, having previously worked as a paralegal at a firm in Northamptonshire, where she grew up. Her experience covers straightforward and complex transactions, including residential sales and purchases, buy-to-let property, remortgages, transfers of equity, new-build homes, lease extensions, equity release, auction transactions and short-term property finance.
Clients value Laura’s clear, concise advice and approachable, down-to-earth manner. She takes time to explain the legal process, highlight important decisions and keep clients informed throughout their transaction. Whether she is advising on a routine sale or purchase or a matter involving a tight deadline, complex title issue or additional trust or probate considerations, her focus is on providing practical advice and a clear route forward.
Outside work, Laura is a busy mum of two. She enjoys family walks with her dog Holly, is a keen runner, and loves to travel.Â
Residential Property Expertise
Laura understands that a property transaction can be one of the most important financial commitments a client makes. She combines detailed legal knowledge with a proactive and pragmatic approach, identifying potential issues early, explaining their practical implications and working with clients, agents, lenders and other solicitors to keep matters progressing wherever possible.
Laura also holds a STEP qualification, giving her additional knowledge of trusts and probate. This is particularly valuable where a property transaction involves an estate, a trust arrangement or related succession issues, enabling her to recognise when these considerations may affect the legal process and to work effectively with colleagues in the firm’s Private Client team where appropriate.
Leadership and Regulatory Responsibilities
Promoted to Director in August 2023, Laura is responsible for the management and development of the Property department. She supports lawyers with challenging transactions, contributes to forecasting and operational planning, updates internal policies and promotes consistent standards of technical quality, responsiveness and client care across the team.
Laura also serves as the firm’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer and has an active role in anti-money-laundering governance, risk management, policy development, training and assurance. Her responsibilities complement her property practice, where careful verification of identity, source of funds and source of wealth is an important part of protecting clients and the integrity of transactions.
